Privacy & Your Data

Browsing, running a local tool, saving work to an account, and sending a message involve different data. This page explains those differences and the controls available to you.

Manage privacy preferences

Optional Analytics

With your permission, this site uses Google Tag Manager to load Google Analytics 4 to help me understand usage and improve the site. Analytics includes:

  • Clicks on key calls-to-action, such as hero buttons.
  • Resume downloads and outbound link clicks.
  • Navigation link clicks.
  • Tool runs, exports, game milestones, project views, and navigation interactions.
  • Search length and result-count ranges, rather than the words you searched for.
  • Basic engagement signals, including time on page and 50% scroll depth.

What Analytics Excludes

  • The site's analytics events do not include your name, email address, contact message, tool input text, or uploaded file contents.
  • Analytics is separate from the information you choose to send through a form or save to an account.

Local Tools and Optional Saved Work

Text comparison and cleanup, image processing, QR generation, and screen recording run in your browser. Using these local processing features does not require uploading your source content.

If you sign in and select Save, the tool sends a session snapshot to your account. What is saved depends on the tool:

  • Text tools save input text, settings, and available results. Campaign tools can save campaign URLs and planning data.
  • Image Optimizer and Screen Recorder save settings, file names, and result summaries; they do not save the source image files or recorded video.
  • Background Remover can save a small processed-image preview. QR Code Generator can save QR content and a preview; Wi-Fi passwords and the corresponding QR preview are excluded from saved sessions.

Password fields and file-upload fields are excluded from the shared session snapshot. Text you enter into ordinary fields can be saved, so review it before choosing Save.

“Copy link to my inputs” places supported inputs in the link itself. Anyone with that link can restore them, and opening the link sends its URL to the site's hosting service. Avoid putting private information in a shareable link.

Accounts, Cloud Features, and Messages

  • Signing in uses Amazon Cognito. Account data can include your email, name, account identifier, saved sessions, and tool activity.
  • Cloud features send the information needed to perform the requested action. For example, transcription uploads approved media for Amazon Transcribe, and the application tracker stores application records and attachments.
  • Submitting the contact form sends your name, email address, and message through the site's contact service and Amazon SES to my inbox so I can reply.
  • Hosting and service providers, including Vercel and AWS, process requests and operational information needed to deliver and protect these features.

Storage, Retention, and Deletion

  • Your browser can store privacy preferences, sign-in state, tool settings, and game progress. Clear this site's data in your browser to remove local storage; this can also sign you out or erase local game progress.
  • Open Account → Saved work & account to export or delete saved sessions. Delete account data removes the saved tool sessions and activity managed by that account panel.
  • That action does not delete your Cognito sign-in identity, contact emails, or records managed by separate cloud tools. Use the relevant tool's deletion controls, or email me for help with those records.
  • Saved sessions are not a permanent backup: retention limits vary by service. Download anything you want to keep, and use the deletion controls when you no longer need a saved session. Contact me for details about a specific record.

Your Choices

  • You can adjust cookie preferences on this page using the Manage Your Privacy Settings form below to opt out of optional cookies.
  • If your browser sends a Do Not Track signal, analytics and advertising remain disabled even if a saved preference says otherwise. Global Privacy Control disables advertising.
  • Turning off analytics does not delete saved sessions or stop a contact submission or cloud action that you request.
  • Blocking Google Tag Manager or Google Analytics with a content blocker will also prevent analytics from loading.
